HELENA LUCAS born in Saarbrücken in 1991, Helena Lucas dropped out of her psychology studies after two years to study film directing at the ifs. Her graduation film »Konstruktion« premieres at the Max Ophüls Award in 2017. A few months later, the master's programme Serial Storytelling follows. In parallel, she writes for »Unter Uns« and, as a team enthusiast, is pleased that daily soaps only work thanks to writers' rooms, if only because of the time pressure. She has founded a Cologne-based scriptwriters' circle and is currently writing her directorial debut »Entschuldigung«.

Life is absurd. At birth we are thrown in at the deep end without being asked, the cards are laid, a series of often random events that we have to make the best of, and we still end up dead. Stories help us make sense of the chaos. And best of all, to be able to laugh about it, too. Clearly, I became an author.
