Johanna Hellwig completed an acting training for film and television and then finished her studies in art history and history (B.A.). Since the beginning of 2014, she has worked as a freelancer in casting for various film, television and advertising projects (including for Die Besetzer and Nessie Nesslauer Casting). In July 2016, she founded her own casting agency based in Cologne with Phillis Dayanir.
Since then, she has been casting film and series productions for public and streaming broadcasters, including "Ostfriesenkrimis", "Tatort Berlin" and "Einfach Nina".
