Majana Urban, born in 1996, produced initial short films during adolescence and commissions to record local events. After leaving secondary school, successful apprenticeship to qualify as audiovisual media designer with Westdeutscher Rundfunk from 2016 to 2019, while also realising her own projects. After graduation in 2019, employment with WDR in postproduction for two years and continued to work there as a freelancer during her studies. During employment with WDR active voluntary engagement within queer@wdr. 2021 to 2025 studied with ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln. Founded the student network queer@filmschule and curated the school´s internal film programme queer cinema night for three years.
