Vita

MICHAEL GRIESSLER, born in 1990, grew up in a small town in Lower Austria. As a child, he wrote horror and detective stories to escape from Austrian village life into even darker realms. Michael finished a BA degree in Media Management and worked for newspapers and advertising agencies as a content manager, copywriter, and editor. He finished his MA in Serial Storytelling at ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln in 2019 and received the Nürnberger Autorenstipendium that year. Since 2020, Michael is writing for the Austrian crime procedural »Soko Donau / Soko Wien« (ORF, ZDF, Satel Film). His first feature-length episode for the German action series »Alarm für Cobra 11« (RTL, action concept) premiered in 2025, his first film for crime show »Behringer und die Toten« (RTL, Redseven Entertainment) in 2026. Michael is currently living in Cologne, writing for »Die Toten von Salzburg« (ORF, ZDF, Satel Film) and developing various TV series concepts while occasionally missing Austrian village life.

When I was 12, I read Stephen King's »It«. In the preface to it, King writes that the simple truth of the book is that magic exists. A good story is magic unleashed - one word at a time. I found that magic later in series like »Mr. Robot« or »True Detective«. It's why I write.
