MIMI ZAK was born in 1997. She grew up in Cologne. After longer travels through South-East Asia, she moves to the elected city of Vienna. There Mimi starts studying political science and cultural and social anthropology. She then moves back to Cologne for studies in Directing at ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln, graduation in 2023. Film is her resource for fusing socially relevant themes and issues through a form of activism. Mimi Zak finds these in the plane between documentary and fiction.
