Images have an effect on us that is not directly comprehensible rationally. That's what fascinates me about them. And also a reason why I love telling stories with pictures. My favorite thing is to be involved in the project very early on. It's a wonderful experience to see how initial visual ideas and the emerging story inspire each other. The same goes for working with other artists. Location, set design, costume, makeup, lighting - the picture is as powerful as the collaboration of our trades. The strongest moment in the whole process for me is when everything comes together. Then I have the feeling of being exactly where I belong.
