As filmmakers, we enjoy the inestimable privilege of pursuing a profession in which we find meaning and fulfillment. I have to remind myself again and again to recognise this privilege as such and not to lose sight of the responsibility behind it. It is the responsibility to point out grievances in the world, to make connections understandable and sometimes even to confuse them. The possibility of dealing creatively with this attitude is what brought me to film. The need for such an attitude is currently greater than ever. This also applies to the variety of formats in which we can tell our stories. I don't believe in the ideal format. I'm constantly moving between a wide variety of media, such as feature films, documentaries and podcasts. Each of these formats has its own strengths and can tell stories that touch, shake up and help shape our view of the world.
