Awards for ifs graduation films in Bremen and Selb

Awards for »Zeitpunkt X« and »Du hast viele Teile«

At the Filmfest Bremen, the ifs graduation film »Zeitpunkt X« by Simon Schneider (director/screenplay), Dario Haramustek (screenplay), Franziska Wieden (production), Martina Di Lorenzo (camera), Tim Egner (editing/sound design) and Jessica Kaczmarek (production design) has been awarded "Best Medium-Length Film" in the international competition Humor / Satire. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros, donated by the Senator for Economics, Labor, and Europe.

In the comedy, which was funded by the Thuringia State Chancellery, a major construction site is nearing completion. Construction manager Thomas Zetzsche (Cornelius Schwalm) is proud of what he and his team have created. But suddenly, more and more major defects appear. It soon becomes clear to Thomas that he will not be able to keep the opening date. He has to ask himself what his own role is in this flawed system and what consequence he will draw from it.

In her laudation, Gisa Flake (actress) says: »If there's one thing we as Germans can do, it's building. You only have to look [...]at our capital Berlin. An obsolete airport when it opens. A superfluous castle with looted art in a prime location. That is all "Made in Germany." So is it really a comedy this film [...] shows us? Or is it rather a tragedy? A drama on several floors of new construction, with a fantastically sober lead actor, a clear, cold visual language [...]. Therefore, big congratulations to Simon Schneider and the whole team of ZEITPUNKT X.«.

At the Grenzland Filmtage in Selb, the ifs graduation film »Du hast viele Teile« by Niva Ehrlich (director; screenplay), Sandra Schröder (screenplay), Zakaria Rahmani (production), Leander Büge (camera), Maria Hartig (editing), Max Rodegra (sound design), Franziska Hoh and Jan Zinn (production design) and Laura Münzer (VFX) won the first prize of the children's jury in the children's programme.

Eight-year-old Lina (Julia Kovacs) desperately needs a new heart, but she definitely doesn't want one from a dead child! At a scrap yard, she goes in search of individual parts to build herself a heart - and meets Kalle (Gavrilo Arnautovic) there. A film about true friends, trust, and the liberating feeling of letting go.
