Mediasphere Meetup at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin

MA Digital Narratives students presented prototypes they developed during their Production Exercise 1

In the Mediasphere Meetup from the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, the students from the MA Digital Narratives presented prototypes they developed during their Production Exercise 1 in their first semester, as part of a cooperation with Mediasphere for Nature, the museum’s lab for digital media.

Prof. Lena Thiele introduced the students and the cooperation. Prof. Frédéric Dubois and lecturer Lea Schorling also accompanied the students.
Gwamaka Mwabuka presented the project »Insect Musical« from the group Electric Eel, a VR experience where users can immerse themselves in the sounds of the jungle.
Samar Nahas presented the project »From Micro to Macro« from the group The Collectors, an interactive Installation with projections from microorganisms.
Pratima Pal presented an animation prototype of historical drawings of microorganisms and three new ideas to expand their use.
Laurien Michiels presented a haptic audiovisual installation designed and created by the group Panopticon using the scanned images of insects.

After the meet up, the group also visited the VR exhibition Theatrum Radix from Marlene Bart at the Tieranatomisches Theater from the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Here are some insights!
