Anima Ex Machina

When her adopted sister dies, a reclusive programmer tries to make her immortal through digital means, not realizing how her tech creation is slowly taking control of her life.

Rebecca is 26 years old when her adopted sister and best friend Lisanne, light of her life and good soul of the friend group, dies unexpectedly in a car accident. It is Rebecca's second tragic loss after the death of her parents, and this time she does not want to accept it: She can't be without Lisanne. So she begins to secretly program a chatbot with Lisanne's personality in order to feel that she can still talk to her.

Rebecca's changes do not go unnoticed by her group of friends. Adelisa in particular, who was present at the car accident but survived it almost unharmed, is very worried. She is not deterred by Rebecca's initial resistance and after a while manages to pull her back into real life.

The chatbot, however, doesn't give up. Successfully programmed to be like Lisanne, he ultimately knows best of all how to win Rebecca's trust. And so he does what he was created to do: cement a friendship. He begins to manipulate Rebecca emotionally.
