The film is part of an intercultural documentary project by ifs and Beit Berl College in Israel. Under the title "Sympathy for the other," students from both schools dealt with questions of national identity, multiculturalism and migration.

Auf der Buslinie, die Dormagen durchquert, entfaltet sich ein ganzer sozialer Mikrokosmos, die Geschichte des post-immigrierten Deutschlands. Von Flüchtlingen, die gerade erst angekommen sind, bis hin zu einheimischen Deutschen sind alle dazu bestimmt, in derselben Metallröhre zu fahren, was eine erzwungene Intimität schafft.
