SYNOPSIS
What is your family demon? If it became part of your home, would it bring you closer – or tear everything apart?
Hala (49) is on the verge of collapse. Her apothecary is struggling, her fourth marriage has quietly imploded, and her rebellious daughter Roma wants nothing to do with family or responsibility. Enter Tari, Hala’s formidable mother from Pakistan, who gives her an ancient lapis lazuli totem said to bring luck in love. Hala dismisses it as old-world nonsense determined to lead her apothecary to success with her new ‘Hair Elixir’ – until a possessed neighbor levitates in her kitchen, demanding she destroy the totem.
The totem holds a demon: Sham. Bound to Hala, but craving freedom, he stirs up long-buried tensions, sabotages Hala’s business, and exploits every crack in the family’s foundation. As the three women argue over whether to use or destroy the totem, Sham manipulates them; revealing secrets, reopening old wounds, and testing loyalties. But through the chaos, something unexpected begins to take shape: the possibility of healing.
Just as Hala finds the strength to outwit Sham, he escapes and opens a portal to his world. Now, with a demon king on the verge of entering theirs, threatening their safety but most importantly the apothecary – can Hala protect what she’s built so far?
Darkly funny, supernatural, and emotionally resonant, this series explores intergenerational conflict, migration, identity, and the literal demons that haunt us – all through a uniquely female lens.
