Benedikt Runkel

Born in Euskirchen, grew up in Brühl, played the piano, always painted and tinkered a lot. Designing/building sets and playing theater in the puppet theater group. Abitur 2020 then federal voluntary service in the museum and internship in the scenography department of the film production »Touched«. Studying at the ifs since 2021. Graduated in 2025.
Since then: Head of Production Design for the romantic comedy series »Mermaids to Lovers« (co-directed with Luisa Buchholz); has worked, among other roles, as a set dresser on various projects (including »Babylon Berlin« and »The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping«).
