Hanfried Schüttler studied theater, education and sociology at the University of Cologne. He then trained as an actor at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum. Since 1984 he has been working as a freelance actor and director. In addition, he has been leading a theater group for many years, gives acting lessons and prepares aspiring actors for their entrance exams to drama schools. He was director of the Burghofbühne, the Landestheater im Kreis Wesel, acting director at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, director of the Theater der Keller as well as director of the acting school of the Theater der Keller. Since 2006 he has been a coach, among others for UFA Serial Drama, elsani film, Wiedemann & Berg, as well as author of "Kalten Herzens mit Verstand - Handreichungen für ein konkretes Erarbeiten einer Rolle".
