Vita
Media, born in 1997, is a filmmaker from Iran, based in Cologne, Germany. He is trained as a film editor, writer, and director, and he is also an aspiring creative director for promotional videos and branded content. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on digital media from Kharazmi University of Tehran in 2020. In the following year, he completed two film production courses at Karnameh Institute of Arts and Culture in Tehran and Art on The Run Film School in Berlin.
Media is experienced in independent film production, taking on roles such as writer, director, director's assistant, editor, and junior producer in several short films and the TV movie Talk To Me (2019). In September 2021, he moved to Germany to continue his studies at IFS Filmschule Köln, graduating with an MA in Digital Narratives in August 2024. During this period at IFS, he focused on immersive cinematic virtual reality experiences. His graduation film is a short VR 360-degree fiction film titled Frame of Mind that experiments with the VR format, theatrical production, and projection mapping.
Meanwhile, he also published an article titled “Cinematic Virtual Reality: The Paradox of the Omniscient Viewer in Omnidirectional Space versus Artistic Authorial Control” in IMAGES: The International Journal of European Film, Performing Arts and Audiovisual Communication, Number 44, Issue Censorship in Film and Audio-Visual Media, November 2024.
