Blood and Iron

In the turmoil of the German War of 1866, a war-weary Saxon takes refuge in a chapel from an ambitious Prussian.

In the ensuing gun battle, the Saxon is fatally wounded. They entrench themselves in front of each other and from now on lie in wait for the other person to make a mistake. In the process, they get to talking and the initial animosity develops into a personal connection over time. But before anyone dares to come out of hiding, the Saxon succumbs to his wounds. Confronted with the bitter reality of war, the Prussian leaves the chapel broken.
