NIKLAS LIPSKI decides to turn his passion for film into a profession only after completing his master's degree in mathematics and physics. He completes internships as a runner, sound and finally DoP, while earning his living as a teacher at secondary schools. Along the way, he plays drums in various band projects and experiments with small and medium format film for his first photo book.
During his studies he accompanies fictional and documentary film projects as an editor and sound designer for the master's programme in film at the ifs and the diploma programme at the KHM, among others. He is a regular juror for the Cilect short film competition in the field of animation.
When he's not working on his own projects, he earns his living in the Cologne media landscape as an assistant colourist and assistant editor at WeFadeToGrey and as a post-production coordinator at JCC, or spends a leisurely Sunday with a Chinese tea and a good book at his home in Cologne Nippes. Studied Editing Picture & Sound at ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln from 2019 until 2023.
