A young woman defends herself against the expectations placed on her and almost fails herself in the process.

After Toni and Ben take a liking to each other on a club night, Ben drives Toni to her parents' house the next morning, where she is supposed to help prepare a funeral service. Through a (convenient) misunderstanding, she introduces Ben there as her new boyfriend. With this white lie Toni tries to avoid the annoying questions and expectations of her weird mother. Ben plays along at first, but soon reaches a point where he is no longer willing to go along with Toni's game, which reminds him how long he himself had to live a lie. Toni realizes that she is not only fooling her family, but more importantly herself, and her plan threatens to fail.
