ARSAL AMIR is a Pakistani filmmaker known for his morally complex, character-driven short films. His most important work, »Granadilla« – a dystopian psychological drama starring Faran Tahir (»Iron Man«, »Escape Plan«) – tells the story of a renowned scientist who is forced to interrogate his former student, blurring the lines between truth, loyalty, and ideology. The film marks a shift in Arsal’s career toward darker, more politically charged stories. His earlier short films, including the award-winning silent comedy »The Shoe Thief« and the romantic comedies »Vegan Date« and »Hill Station«, showcase his range of styles and genres. Arsal’s writing is precise and multi-layered, often exploring internal conflicts against larger systems, while his directing style favours controlled pacing, atmospheric tension, and emotionally restrained performances. His work consistently interrogates human contradictions through bold yet down-to-earth storytelling. Studying at the ifs since 2025.
