Dunya Khayame is a screenwriter and actress based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She started acting for TV at the age of ten, went to study acting at the Theatre School in Maastricht. After working intensively as an actress for theater, film, and TV, she took a little detour studying and working as a midwife, started acting again, and further developed as a screenwriter. Dunya has written and co-written several Dutch tv series, including »De poli«, »ZINA« (season 1 & 2; nominated for a Rookie award, shortlist Rose d’Or), »Sihame« (season 2), a kids series called »Welkom Thuis«, as well as a film adaptation of her own theatre play, »De Hokje«. For this play she received the Prijs van de Wijkjury at the theatre festival of Amsterdam.
