Vita

Markus Stromiedel, in a former life journalist and film scholar, made his screenwriting debut with a script for Germany’s best known crime series »Tatort«. It was the most successful film of this year on German television. Since then he has written numerous highly successful crime TV movies, as well as developing and realizing series formats. He developed several well-known TV characters, for example the »Tatort«-commissioner Klaus Borowski or the prosecutor Bernd Reuther, one of the most successful investigators on ZDF. His current project is a new twelve-part drama series commissioned by ZDF, which he developed as creator and head writer in a writers‘ room (start of broadcast in January 2023).
