Tyron Ricketts

Tyron Ricketts, born in Austria in 1973, has been active in front of and behind the camera for 25 years. He is the founder and managing director of the production company Panthertainment, which focuses on PoC narratives and successfully realises them internationally, pioneering diversity in the industry. He has worked on the first German Disney+ original »Sam – A Saxon« as a producer, writer and actor. His exceptional work has already been recognised with a nomination for the Grimme Award for his achievements in the series »Sam – A Saxon«.
Tyron‘s multifaceted career began with the production and presentation of the hip-hop programme »Word Cup« on Viva TV. With projects such as the award-winning short film »Afrodeutsch« and his chart-topping music projects »Mellowbag« and »Weltenreiter«, he combined entertainment with political messages at an early stage.
As an actor, Tyron can be seen in well-known films such as »Bunte Hunde« and »Kanak Attack« as well as in numerous series productions such as »Soko Leipzig«, »Dogs of Berlin« and »Die Inselärztin«. After a four-year stay in the USA, where he gained insights into the international film business and developed social media strategies against racism for Harry Belafonte, Tyron returned to Germany in 2017. He has also been actively involved in the German government's integration programmes such as »Respekt 2010« and »Heimat Almanya«.
