"Fisherman and the Sea" is a contemporary zoetrope project created by MA3D Animation for Film & Games students Noor-ul-Muntaha Khan, Ana Carolina Araque, and Iuliia Naumova, under the mentorship of Ilja Burzev during their third semester. This unique installation brings a classic storytelling device into the modern era, featuring 3D printed characters—a fish, a fisherman, and an octopus—each playing a part in a narrative about life's interconnectedness and the unexpected consequences of actions.
Engineered with an Arduino microcontroller, the zoetrope offers precise control over motor speed and synchronized lighting. Its modular design features interchangeable animation discs, allowing for diverse themes using the same base. This setup blends technical precision with creative flexibility, making it ideal for exhibits or educational demonstrations.
