Kick Off! Today the three-day »Clash of Realities« – The 13th International Conference on the Art, Technology and Theory of Digital Games from Cologne Game Lab and TH Köln started! On the first day, the ifs hosted the summit »Film and Games: Storytelling as a Strategy of Social Responsibility« under the leadership of ifs professor Dr. Joachim Friedmann, who welcomed the audience and moderated the summit. Among others, political expert Sergej Sumlenny hold a keynote about »Entertaining Themselves Into a War: How Russian Pulp Fiction, Movies, and Computer Games Constructed Anti-western Narrative«. In addition, J. Martin (Mediadesign Hochschule Düsseldorf) spoke about »Shared Realities, Solitary Actions: Media Languages as Agents of Formation, Reinforcement, and Change« and Tatjana Samopjan closed the summit with her keynote about »Fire in the eyes. Are your eyes a projector or a camera?«.

The »Young Academics Workshop« also took place today – organized and curated by ifs-Alumna, film producer and director Su-Jin Song, ifs-Alumna Jimena Aguilar and Katja Aller (CGL). The Workshop explored today the present and future of female representation in games, films, and digital media.
