Two weeks ago, the MA Digital Narratives started their Production Exercise 2, part of their second semester of studies. After a visit to the Freies Werkstatt Theaters and watching the play "REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN.", the students developed three WebXR prototypes within four days of production. The ideas were focused on #WebXR formats and aimed at fulfilling specific needs of the theatre, which was the cooperation partner for this exercise. The students were supported by lectures Maren Demant & Lea Schorling.
Questions the students tried answering with their prototypes included: how to make people, who don’t go to the theatre much, curious about the play? How can you create a "safe space" for visitors of the theatre to reflect on their feelings and opinions after the play? How can you engage men to come see a play whose theme is feminism?
Today the students presented their great prototypes "Pussy Portal", "Revolt! AR Magazine" and "Echo-Verse" at the ifs cinema. Guido Rademachers and Caroline Brünen from the Freies Werkstatt Theater were also on site.
Here are some impressions from the presentation!
